new collaborative split release from Dead Door Unit + New Grasping Machina!
from the label: A quick but filled-to-bursting potpourri split by two brand new voices in East Coast noise. KPG’s Dead Door Unit supplies a loose assemblage of off-kilter samples, muffled pedal harsh, and subdued industrial brood in “Drowning,” all of which eventually fractures into tape-assisted cutup nonsense. Both artists have a strangely satisfying carelessness with which they’ve stitched their tracks together; New Grasping Machina’s “Afraid” replicates the droning, hand-cranked dynamic buildup of his live sets, a trudge broken only by a brief speech fragment that somehow both emphasizes and kneecaps the intensity of the remaining two minutes.
